The home is purpose built and is registered to provide residential and nursing care for up to 99 people. Accommodation is on three floors which can be accessed via stairs or a passenger lift. There were a number of communal areas of varying size that supported people spending time together in larger areas but also privately in smaller lounges. A separate ‘reminiscence neighbourhood’ providing specialised dementia care, was devoted entirely to people who were living with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia. At the time of our visit 74 people were living at Sunrise Bramhall ll . The service, which is known as a 'community', is divided into two separate neighbourhoods, the 'assisted living' neighbourhood and the 'reminiscence' neighbourhood.

Appropriate equipment and health and safety checks were carried out to help maintain a safe environment for people to live in. We saw there were individualised risk assessments in place to identify specific areas of concern. The care plans were person-centred and covered essential elements of people’s needs and preferences.
Meet our Team
Checks were made into people’s backgrounds as required by the regulations. Staff received induction training when they first started work and were kept updated through a yearly training program. Ladybrook Manor provides Residential, Nursing, Dementia and Respite care. Activities Are So Important We encourage residents to stay active, make new friends, nurture interests, learn new skills and pursue favourite hobbies. I have worked in the care sector since the 1990s, and I started at Ladybrook Manor in March 2020, as the Assisted Living Coordinator, and have worked alongside some amazing team members here. In 2022 I was made General Manager for Ladybrook Manor and feel privileged to have gained this role. We have therefore encouraged every provider to open their ‘online windows and doors’ to help you make an informed choice. The profile score is a measure of how much information has been provided. Whether you have loved ones in town or across the country, we can help deepen those relationships and keep you connected to the local community.
In-Home Care

There are lovely dining areas and gardens for all to enjoy, though also the privacy of large ensuite bedrooms to retire to. Ensuring there is no drastic lifestyle shift when moving into Sunrise, the care home offers wide-ranging activities so that residents can enjoy the same hobbies and passions they always have. With six organised activities a day, there’s also the option to try something new – from tai chi to cooking and flower arranging. It is so very rewarding to see residents smiling and laughing each day.
People’s health needs were managed effectively and there was evidence of professional’s involvement. People living at Sunrise of Bramhall told us they felt safe and said staff were kind and caring. Staff we spoke with told us they had completed training in safeguarding and were able to describe the different types of abuse that could occur.

We found a number of breaches of the Health and Social Care Act Regulations 2010. You can see what action we told the provider to take at the back of the full version of the report. People spoken with told us they had no concerns about the care being provided and they felt safe and protected by the staff from potential harm. Complaints were addressed and recorded appropriately by the management team. People who used the service and their relatives told us they knew how to make a complaint and felt confident to approach any member of the staff team if they had any concerns.
Sunrise of Bramhall provides personal and nursing care and accommodation for up to 98 older people. People in care homes receive accommodation and nursing or personal care as single package under one contractual agreement. CQC regulates both the premises and the care provided, and both were looked at during this inspection.
Residents dining in their own room have the same food options as elsewhere. Snacks are provided for residents that require texture-modified food. My career in care started back in 2010 as a Home Administrator in a nursing home. Once I started interacting with the residents, I knew where I wanted my career to be.
I feel very privileged and honoured to be part of this experience and to help in the process of making the decision to join our community. Seeing new residents flourish and make new friends is the most rewarding element of my role. Social media provides an up to date window on the activities within a provider's setting.
